A great pair of handmade Italian shoes made Mondo Albion in Florence Italy.
The owner, Albion, is a free-spirit who is an artist, poet (he sells a small pamphlet on the secrets to life in the shop) and – here’s the part that might interest you – a shoe maker. Indeed, he is regarded as a master shoe craftsman.
When you walk into the store you are immediately immersed in shoes of the most bizarre styles you will have ever seen (there's also some 'regular' stuff too!).
Hand painted, colorful boots and glam style very high platform heel shoes are some of the more popular models. Like the man himself, the shoes and boots in the shop are artistic, highly eccentric and inimitable.
These boots are one of a kind and handmade from about the 80s or 90s. The large brass buckles on each boot are hand cast and signed on the back. Has side zips on each boot. The soles are made of synthetic material and the heels are made of wood The leather is still soft and supple but does have some signs of wear throughout. There are some scuffs and dings, a seam is coming apart by the zipper (does not affect wearability). There were added insoles inside but they were degrading so they had to be removed. Inside one boot the leather is peeling a little bit.
Unmarked size but are roughly a women's size 10
10 1/4" long from heel to toe
The widest part of the calf is about 14" the boot reaching about 17" up the leg.
